Music has been a huge part of my life. it’s corny, i know, but I can honestly say that when I play music, wehether its singing, playing guitar or piano, or listening to a particularly good song, I feel that I’m in the right place, grounded in that moment and free from the worries of the world.
I am taken by music and will persue it for my entire life.
As a child I was lucky enough to be introduced to music through my family. Several of my family members have a great influence in music. Namely, my uncle is a huge beatles fan, which means I am too, and also a talented guitarist and pianist. My mother is also the rockstar of the family as she is a part of the Rathfarnham Ukulele Choir, a group who perform for events all over Ireland. They are book almost every week for some gig or charity fundraiser. It is basically a full time job and, like any band, requires a lot of practise. My family and the opporunities that my family gave to me in music are pivitol to my development as a musician.
I have been playing the guitar since I got lessons through weekend classes at my primary school St Pius X from about ten years old and have thankfully kept it up since then. Sure, there have been times that I havent picked up the guitar for a few weeks, but thankfully kept at it.
Now I believe that I have acrewed enough knowlege to call myself a budding intermediate guitarist. Each time i pick up the instrument I descoved someting new, be it a new way of playing a chord, or a scale or collecetion of notes that speaks to me.
