AirBud Returns (2025)
A dog playing basketball?! How could I not!
AriBud Returns is the 14th movie in the series of AirBud, originally created by Kevin DiCico and subsequently franchised by Robert Vince, and aimed to return to the core of what the original movie was. A dog playing backetball, and not going to space and/or solving crimes.
Working on Airbud Returns, was like going back and seeing how the sausage was made. Growing up I didnt know about these movies but I did see Bethoven and Lassie, and can imagine that they were similar to work on. The dogs that I was able to meet were the most amazingly calm and personable dogs one could come across, but the reality is that it takes a long time to get a dog to do anything. Luckily the team on board were highly skilled, and not only my friends in set dec, but I met the guy who trained the dogs from such films as Marley and Me and Cruella. Just rubbing shoulders with some of the best in the busines, along with Robery Vince and the stars as well.
The team I worked alongside were incredible and made the long days and nights working in to a breeze. I had worked with many of them before and felt like I had met my type of people. Thats a big part of film, being able to work with the team.
